How to Create Healthy and Lasting Habits

What Is The Importance of Creating Healthy Habits?

Having healthy habits are so important for our mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional being.

When we are creating healthy habits it is showing our mind, body, and soul that we truly care about how we are treating our inner world, our external selves and showing up for ourselves.

The way that I got into creating habits/routines was when I started following people on instagram who were into wellness and through getting more information on how important starting and ending my day was which lead me into connecting with what I would want my morning and evening routine to look like.

Noticing what would lift me up in the morning and guide me toward getting my day started which is journaling, gratitude, meditation, saying “I love you” to myself, and removing my phone from my morning routine unless I need the timer for my meditations.

For my evening routine to guide me toward relaxation I would light a candle, read, journal, say “I love you” to myself, and have my phone turn on “do not disturb” mode for 9:00pm so that I am not looking at any technology an hour before bed so that I can get enough sleep.

Everyone’s morning and evening routines will look differently and that is the beauty of it. We can make our routines unique to us and how we enjoy to start the day and end the day.

Creating healthy habits for yourself will help you to stay on track and to be centered while doing your day to day tasks.

Give yourself space to enjoy creating routines and habits.

I personally really enjoy writing a list in this case of routines which can be really fun and a satisfying feeling of checking off mentally or physically what you did is very rewarding!

I do really want to mention that we are all human and that each day is going to be different and to bring in flow with the structure of routines and habits.

Say you have your morning routine and there wasn’t much time one morning to do everything that you have one your list bring in compassion and kindness to yourself and know that it is okay to not do one of the things that morning.

We can also do it later on or you can start fresh again tomorrow because each day is a new beginning.

Try moving away from identifying your self with your routines or habits. If one of them does not get done or a healthy habit did not end up happening acknowledge that and know that there is still time in the day for it to make a priority or that tomorrow is a new day to start fresh.

It’s truly about making these routines and healthy habits a priority and to be kind and compassionate to yourself when they do not happen and that you choose to keep moving forward toward growth and choosing healthy routines and habits for yourself the next day.

How will you show up for yourself tomorrow?

So much love to all you beautiful souls! <3
